This is an example of the emails we started sending out in mid-August to promote the "2005 Mid-Life Crisis Tour," with a little background info on the Closet Rockers:

Just a quick email to get the word out...

Bobby, Jeff, Vann and I have been trying to find a time to get together again and play some loud music. We met and played in Bobby and Gini Beth's basement one weekend last summer. (Before that weekend, the four of us had not played together for 14 years!) We had a blast, but we missed playing for our friends. We all agreed that we'd like to play again--maybe in Auburn on a home game Saturday--but couldn't make it work last season.

I'm happy to say that everything seems to have lined up and we are making arrangements to play at the Fiji House right after the Mississippi State game on September 10. We're calling this the Closet Rockers' "Mid-Life Crisis Tour 2005."

The game starts at 11:30am, so we'll start playing around 2:00 or 2:30pm. If it rains, we'll play inside the house.

We're bringing our families and would love to see yours there.

We probably won't all go to the game, so please come if you can... even if you don't have tickets!

We've put together a simple little web site at www.closetrockers.com, and we will keep it updated with any news. It includes an "RSVP List" of folks that are planning to be there. Send us a note at rsvp@closetrockers.com and let us know if you can make it.

Most importantly, please forward this email to anyone who you think might care. With three weeks to get the word out, we'll really need your help.
